Mold Damage

Mold has a harmful effect on the structure of homes and the health of their occupants. When mold is present, the indoor air quality is weak, and the health of families and employees suffers. Around 70% of U.S. homes have mold, and the cost of treating health effects from mold are staggering: $3.7 billion annually in the U.S. alone. Mold isn’t limited to older buildings. Any home or business, new and old alike, can develop a mold problem directly contributed to building materials and construction techniques that restrict airflow. 

Moisture Control 

Moisture is highly damaging to buildings, and humidity is the root cause of microbial growth. In 2016, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published, “A Brief Guide to Mold, Moisture and Your Home,” where they cite moisture as the “key to mold control.” When a homeowner finds a mold problem, they’ve also found a moisture problem, and both issues need to be resolved to keep negative health symptoms at bay.

HVAC Cleaning

HVAC systems are commonly linked to mold growth. The EPA recommends homeowners clean their air ducts when mold and moisture are present in the house. But cleaning air ducts is about more than just mold and moisture control. An estimated 14 million out of 124 million occupied housing units in the U.S. reported seeing roaches in their homes during the last 12 months, while some 14.8 million said they saw rats or mice, according to a 2021 Census Bureau report. The EPA recommends air duct cleaning for pest infestations as well, opening a new need and market.
